VAN GOGH SUNFLOWERS SILK SQUARE
VAN GOGH SUNFLOWERS SILK SQUARE
SKU:70012
DESIGNER'S NOTES
A bright Yellow and Gold silk square typical of the vibrant colour palette of the revolutionary Dutch painter Vincent Van Gogh (1853 - 1890). Painted in Arles in the south of France between 1888 and 1899, depictions of Sunflowers are amongst the artist's most famous works. He painted five large canvases of flowers in a vase, using three shades of yellow and 'nothing else', to demonstrate that it was possible to create a work with several variations of a colour, without any loss of expressiveness.
The scarf is crafted from from the finest silk twill and is finished with traditional, artisan hand rolled hems.
