Lindsay Philip Butterfield (1869-1948) was one of the most successful freelance British textile and wallpaper designers at the turn of the twentieth century.
Much of his design work was floral based, following in the footsteps of William Morris. He also admired Charles Voysey, a contemporary of his. Butterfield took Arts & Crafts ideas into Art Nouveau.
