DESIGNER'S NOTES

A blue Fox & Chave silk tie with a floral pattern in the Iznik style.

The pattern originates from the Ottoman tradition of Turkey, famously used in 16th-century ceramics and silk textiles. The white five-petaled blooms likely represent Prunus blossoms (plum or cherry), symbolising spring and rebirth.

The design utilises a classic Hatayi style, characterised by fluid, vertical S-curve stems and a palette of cobalt and turquoise. This floral trail arrangement was historically used to decorate mosque tiles and royal caftans, creating eternal gardens. Today, it remains a hallmark of Mediterranean decor, prized for its balance of naturalism and stylised geometric elegance.
