DESIGNER'S NOTES
A striking Fox & Chave silk tie with a compilation pattern of a variety of images from the Christian tradition and other cultural scenes as rendered in stained glass.
Stained glass originated in the ancient Roman and Egyptian worlds, where coloured glass was used in small decorative objects as early as the 1st century AD. However, the form we recognise today—using lead framework to assemble coloured glass panels—became prominent in early medieval Europe, particularly in Christian churches and monasteries.
The oldest known example of pictorial stained glass is from St. Paul's Monastery in Jarrow, North East England, c.7th century AD, but the craft truly flourished in the Gothic period between the 12th and 16th centuries.

STYLING
A Fox & Chave silk tie looks best tied in a classic Windsor or half-Windsor knot and worn with a collar style of your choosing. Cutaway or spread collars offer the greatest opportunity to display the detail of your unique silk tie design.
