DESIGNER'S NOTES
An idiosyncratic Fox & Chave silk chiffon scarf featuring elements from the painting Almond Blossoms (1890) by the Dutch post impressionist Vincent Van Gogh (1853-1890).
Painted in the final year of the artist's short and remarkable life, Almond Blossoms was one of a series of several similar paintings made between 1888 and 1890. The series features delicate almond tree branches blooming against vibrant, often blue skies.
Painted to celebrate the birth of his nephew, ironically a contributing factor to soon taking his own life, the series captures van Gogh's fascination with nature and simplicity, offering a serene contrast to his often turbulent emotions. The almond blossoms convey themes of purity and rebirth, reflecting both his personal struggles and his love for his family.
