DESIGNER'S NOTES
A hardback A5 notebook with lined pages and a ribbon marker featuring an element on the cover from the central panel of The Stoclet Frieze completed in 1911, a Tree of Life motif by Gustav Klimt in the Stoclet Palace, Brussels on commission by the Belgian financier Adolphe Stoclet.
Klimt had a habit of wearing a long, flowing robe while he worked, skipping undergarments entirely! He was also a cat lover and often painted with his cats wandering freely around his studio.
Known for his gilded, sensuous art, Klimt rarely traveled but was deeply inspired by nature, often retreating to the countryside to sketch landscapes. Despite his provocative paintings, Klimt was notoriously private, rarely giving interviews, and famously declaring, "I am a painter who paints day after day from morning to night."
