DESIGNER'S NOTES
This light hearted pale blue Fox & Chave silk tie comes from the mind of the cartoonist and fundraiser Bryn Parry (1956-2023)
A classic comic representation of the English idiom '...and pigs might fly', these porcine pilots flying in formation illustrate a term used to express extreme skepticism or disbelief about the likelihood of something happening.
The origin of the phrase is uncertain, but it's believed to date back to the 17th century, possibly originating in English folklore or humorous anecdotes. A further speculative theory suggests it may have been inspired by a mistranslation of the Latin phrase "cum grano salis," which translates to "with a grain of salt".
