DESIGNER'S NOTES
A sea green woven silk Fox & Chave tie with a repeat pattern of various wild animals that can be seen in the British countryside, including Hares, Deer, Foxes and Pheasants.
Red deer, are the largest native species in Britain and thrive in Scotland and select parts of England, while Roe deer are more common in woodlands across the country. Foxes are highly adaptable, living in both rural and urban areas, where they hunt small mammals and scavenge for food. Pheasants, though not native, are widespread due to game bird introductions, often seen in fields and woodlands. Brown hares prefer open farmland, using their speed to escape predators, while the rarer mountain hare is mainly found in Scotland, turning white in winter for camouflage.
Each of these animals carry symbolic and cultural relevance for the more rural way of life in Britain.
