DESIGNER'S NOTES
A Fox & Chave silk habotai scarf in shades of cream and ivory with blue highlights that form a design from the vast library created by William Morris.
The artichoke was an oft repeated motif in the textile and interior designs of Morris and his company. In this example the design featuring a prominent blue artichoke flower was created as a linen wall hanging embroidered with wool yarn by Ada Phoebe Godman, who lived at Smeaton Manor in North Yorkshire. She commissioned Morris in 1877 to produce a design for her drawing room that she could embroider.
The design was later made available as tiles, with the main Artichoke motif at the corner requiring four different tiles to complete the repeat.

STYLING
A Fox & Chave habotai silk scarf can be worn with the classic knot style or a pussycat bow. You can even create a shawl effect by knotting two scarves together behind your neck and allowing them to drape over your shoulders.
