An elegant Fox & Chave crêpe de chine silk scarf with a floral design of passiflora also known as Passion Flower.

The passiflora, is a strikingly intricate bloom native to the Americas, with radial filaments, a central corona, and spiralling tendrils. Named by 16th-century Christian missionaries, its structure was interpreted as symbolic of Christ’s Passion: the corona represented the crown of thorns, the five stamens the five wounds, and the ten petals and sepals the ten faithful apostles.

Its climbing nature and fleeting beauty evoked themes of spiritual ascent and suffering. In art and literature, the passiflora became a potent emblem of sacrifice, divine love, and the intersection of the natural and the sacred within a single bloom.
