DESIGNER'S NOTES

A classic navy blue woven silk Fox & Chave tie with a repeat pattern of horses and jockeys at gallop.

National Hunt racing, has its roots firmly planted in the 18th-century landscapes of Britain and Ireland, traces its origins to the sport of steeplechasing—a term derived from races between church steeples, the tallest landmarks visible across rural terrain. Riders navigated natural obstacles, a precursor to the structured courses we recognise today.

By the 19th century, these informal contests evolved into organised events on enclosed tracks, where artificial fences and hurdles replicated their rustic predecessors.

The season in these two countries runs from October to April, culminating in the big one, The Grand National at Aintree in Liverpool.
