DESIGNER'S NOTES
White cotton boxer shorts with a repeat text pattern of the quote Veni, Vidi, Vici as written by the General and Dictator Emperor of Rome Gaius Julius Caesar (100-44BC)
The phrase translates in English to “I came, I saw, I conquered” and was written by in 47 BC in a letter to the Roman Senate. He used it to report his swift and decisive victory over Pharnaces II of Pontus at the Battle of Zela in Asia Minor.
The statement emphasises the speed and completeness of the campaign, highlighting both Caesar’s military skill and his rhetorical flair. Its terseness and rhythm made it memorable, and it has since become a classic expression of triumph and efficiency in both historical and popular contexts.
