DESIGNER'S NOTES
This colourful Fox & Chave silk bow tie features a design in a turquoise variation of the main pattern in the painting Hope II (1907-08) by Gustav Klimt. (1862-1918)
The pattern of polka dots in various colours is typical of Klimt's inclusion of decorative elements within his works particularly to depict fabrics and in this case adorns adorns the robe of the central figure within the work.
Hope II is an ode to the the cycle of life with various female figures depicted with their heads bowed, the foremost among them is heavily pregnant while a skull sits atop her distended belly.
