DESIGNER'S NOTES
A handsome floral Fox & Chave silk tie in chocolate and umber tones forming an understated design by William Morris from an original called Bullerswood, first created in 1889.
The design is based on a large hand-knotted Persian style rug designed by Morris and John Henry Dearle that the former displayed in his dining room at Kelmscott House, his Hammersmith residence overlooking the River Thames where he lived from 1878 until his death, and today home to the William Morris Society.
The Morris Company produced many patterns of similar type embedding simple and charming birds within deep, swirling foliage and flowers, reminiscent of their relationship to their natural habitat and reflective of Morris' philosophy of countering growing industrialisation in Victorian Britain with designs heavily inspired by nature.
COLOURS

STYLING
A Fox & Chave silk tie looks best tied in a classic Windsor or half-Windsor knot and worn with a collar style of your choosing. Cutaway or spread collars offer the greatest opportunity to display the detail of your unique silk tie design.
