DESIGNER'S NOTES

This floral Fox & Chave crêpe de chine silk scarf features blue, coral and golden flowers with pale green stems over a dark blue ground after the textile design Golden Lily by William Morris.

The pattern is a quintessential example of the Arts and Crafts movement, which William Morris helped to pioneer reflecting the movement’s emphasis on craftsmanship, natural forms, and decorative beauty.

Golden lily has been adapted for use in various decorative arts, including ceramics, bookbindings, furniture and also fashion with one high-profile example being a jacket acquired from the Boutique Granny Takes a Trip on the King's Road in Chelsea, London and worn in 1967 by Beatle George Harrison.
