DESIGNER'S NOTES

A fabric covered hard case for glasses featuring the Strawberry Thief design created by the English pioneer of the Arts and Crafts movement, William Morris (1834-96).

The birds in the pattern are Song Thrushes, (Turdus philomelos) from the family Turdidae, which also includes the Blackbird Turdus merula.

Thrushes have a knack for what is known as "anvil" behavior: they use rocks as tools to crack open snail shells, showcasing surprising ingenuity.

In mythology, their melodious songs are often linked to messages of hope or love; for instance, in Irish folklore, hearing a thrush's song at dawn was believed to bring good fortune.
