Celtic Phoenix Bangle

DESIGNER'S NOTES

This classic silver plated bangle featuring an element from a celtic style pattern featuring a bird.

The phoenix is a mythological bird symbolising renewal, immortality, and cyclical transformation. Originating in Egyptian and later Greco-Roman mythology, it is said to burst into flames at the end of its life and rise reborn from its ashes. In art and literature, the phoenix often embodies resilience, hope, and the triumph of life over death. Medieval Christian iconography adopted it as an allegory for resurrection and spiritual renewal.

Depictions vary from fiery plumage to golden feathers, sometimes encircled by flames. Less often noted, the phoenix also appears in Middle Eastern and Asian traditions, representing cosmic order, the sun, and the eternal cycle of nature.

STYLING

The bangle image is a few centimetres in diameter on an open ring. Wear with jewellery of similar scale, such as a simple silver pendant or brooch.
