DESIGNER'S NOTES

This classic silver plated bangle features a scarab beetle.

The scarab is a central symbol in ancient Egyptian mythology, embodying rebirth, transformation, and protection. Inspired by the dung beetle’s habit of rolling balls across the ground, it was linked to the sun god Ra, mirroring the daily journey of the sun.

Scarabs symbolised creation, life cycles, and the passage between life and death, often crafted as amulets, seals, or burial objects to safeguard souls. Its metamorphic life stages reinforced associations with regeneration and resurrection.

Today, the scarab continues to signify resilience, change, and renewal, carrying mystical and esoteric connotations that connect ancient beliefs with contemporary reflections on transformation and spiritual awakening.

The bangle image is a few centimetres in diameter on an open ring. Wear with jewellery of similar scale, such as a simple silver pendant or brooch.
