DESIGNER'S NOTES
A Fox & Chave silk tie with a pattern of flowers in a style typical of Iznik Ware, a type of ceramic design named after the town in Anatolia, Turkey where it was made between the 15th and 17th centuries.
The Iznik style used traditional Ottoman arabesque patterns to reflect Chinese styles. This was likely due to the patronage of the newly established Ottoman court in Istanbul, which held Chinese blue and white porcelain in high regard.
From the mid-1500s, production included large quantities of underglazed tiles to decorate the imperial buildings designed by the architect Mimar Sinan who was responsible for the construction of more than 300 major structures including many mosques and bridges, at the direction of Suleiman the Magnificent, Selim II and Murad III.
COLOURS

STYLING
A Fox & Chave silk tie looks best tied in a classic Windsor or half-Windsor knot and worn with a collar style of your choosing. Cutaway or spread collars offer the greatest opportunity to display the detail of your unique silk tie design.
