Post-war models like the classic Austin FX4 established black as the standard colour, primarily due to cheaper production costs. Famous for their exceptional manoeuvrability, these vehicles were traditionally engineered with a tight twenty-five-foot turning circle specifically to negotiate the Savoy Hotel's famous roundabout.
