DESIGNER'S NOTES
This silver-plated bangle features the Glasgow Rose, an iconic Art Nouveau motif created by Scottish architect and artist Charles Rennie Mackintosh (1868–1928).
The design expresses Mackintosh’s vision of organic geometry and spiritual harmony, derived from the spiral of a natural rose. Its stylised form blends botanical observation with mathematical clarity, reflecting the balance between nature and structure at the heart of Art Nouveau.
Often framed within precise geometric borders, the rose symbolises purity, transformation, and unity. Appearing across stained glass, metalwork, and textiles, it served as both ornament and personal emblem, embodying Mackintosh’s distinctive Scottish modernism and contemplative aesthetic.
