DESIGNER'S NOTES
This silver-plated bangle features a motif from Bourne, a design created by Morris & Co., the firm founded by artist and social reformer William Morris (1834–1896).
The pattern embodies Morris’s belief that beauty and integrity in design could elevate daily life. Interwoven foliage and blossoms evoke the vitality of the English landscape, combining rhythmic order with organic spontaneity.
Subtle irregularities within the repeated forms preserve the handmade spirit he championed against industrial uniformity. By translating nature’s cycles into ornament, Bourne expresses growth, renewal, and moral harmony.
The bangle reimagines Morris’s vision in metal, turning his philosophy of art, nature, and humanity into a tactile, wearable expression.
