DESIGNER'S NOTES

A floral Fox & Chave habotai silk scarf with a blue and green multi-bordered layout design to create a pattern known as an Indienne.

Also referred to as an Indian Chintz composition it is typical of traditional Asian textiles. Beyond the cobalt blue band of delicate boteh or paisley motifs, the design features a lush floral field filled with stylized blue lotus palmettes and trailing green foliage against a soft cream ground.

Interlocking horizontal vine borders frame the central composition, while the bottom edge displays a repeating arch motif reminiscent of architectural mihrab niches or traditional sari pallu trims. Rooted in eighteenth-century European Indiennes and Indian hand-block printing, this design merges dynamic botanical sprays with structured geometric bands, creating a refined, highly layered decorative statement for contemporary style.

STYLING
