DESIGNER'S NOTES

A Fox & Chave silk crêpe de chine scarf with a detailed and exciting art nouveau design of celtic knots and symbols including a representation of the head of the mythical phoenix.

The phoenix appears in some medieval Irish manuscripts, where Christian scribes may have incorporated it into their work as a symbol of Christ's resurrection.

Some Celtic tales feature magical birds with transformative and healing powers such as the "Fire-Bird" or "Bird of Rhiannon" in Welsh mythology. This is a mystical creature which can bring people back from the dead or grant eternal life, reflecting themes of rebirth.

The Celts had a deep connection to nature and the changing seasons, so transformation and renewal represented by the phoenix are present in many Celtic myths and legends and through other symbols and stories.
