DESIGNER'S NOTES

A monochrome Fox & Chave printed silk tie with a classic art deco pattern of stylised palm fronds.

Many art deco elements were inspired by tropical, exotic motifs and nature-inspired elements representing them as stylised plants, using geometric repetition, and symmetry.

Palm fronds in Art Deco were typically rendered in bold, sweeping lines and dramatic shapes, symbolising luxury, opulence, and the fascination with distant, sun-soaked lands. Such motifs were often seen on textiles, wallpapers, and in architecture, reflecting a time of global exploration and the exuberance of the Jazz Age.
