DESIGNER'S NOTES
A distinct Fox & Chave silk habotai scarf with patterns by Gustav Klimt, derived from his celebrated Stoclet Frieze (1905–1911).
The design combines two distinct elements from this masterpiece. The golden spirals are from the central 'Tree of Life' panel, symbolising eternity, while the geometric bands, featuring squares and circles, are details from the robes in the panel titled 'Fulfilment' (or The Embrace).
Klimt used squares to symbolise the masculine and circles for the feminine with the shapes merging, visually representative of the couple’s romantic union and the 'fulfilment' of their love.
The design captures the essence of Klimt’s so called Golden Phase.
