DESIGNER'S NOTES
This refined Fox & Chave printed silk tie features a representation of the pages from Magna Carta with illustrations of the shields of the signatories to the historic document.
The Magna Carta, signed in 1215, was a charter forced upon King John of England by his barons, aiming to limit royal power and protect feudal rights. It established principles of due process, such as protection from unlawful imprisonment, fair taxation, and access to justice.
Although initially focused on baronial interests, it is considered a foundational document for English common law and later became a symbol of constitutional law, influencing democratic rights and freedoms across the anglosphere and beyond.
