DESIGNER'S NOTES
This Fox & Chave silk tie in shades of cream and ivory with blue highlights that form a design from the vast library created by William Morris.
Flowers and vegetation, and particularly artichokes form the main body of textile and interior designs of Morris and his company. In this instance, a design showcasing a prominent blue artichoke flower was crafted as a linen wall hanging embroidered with crewel wool yarns on linen by Ada Phoebe Godman, a resident of Smeaton Manor in North Yorkshire. In 1877, she enlisted Morris to create a design for her drawing room, which she intended to embroider herself.
Subsequently, the design was adapted for tiles, with the main Artichoke motif in the corners requiring four separate tiles to complete the pattern.

STYLING
A Fox & Chave silk tie looks best tied in a classic Windsor or half-Windsor knot and worn with a collar style of your choosing. Cutaway or spread collars offer the greatest opportunity to display the detail of your unique silk tie design.
