DESIGNER'S NOTES

This silver-plated pendant captures the hypnotic “eye” of a peacock feather, a motif that has shimmered through centuries of art, myth, and design.

Across cultures, the peacock’s gaze embodies both protection and allure: in Hinduism, it is divine watchfulness; in Byzantium, eternal life; in Art Nouveau, sensual beauty distilled into pattern and rhythm. Designers like Lalique and Klimt transformed its iridescent symmetry into symbols of desire and transcendence.

Yet beyond opulence lies the feather’s ancient talismanic role, in Persian and Ottoman textiles, the eye wards off envy and misfortune. Here, its watchful calm finds new form, balancing mysticism, geometry, and elegance.

STYLING

The bangle image is a few centimetres in diameter on an open ring. Wear with jewellery of similar scale, such as a simple silver pendant or brooch.
