Klimt Turquoise Silk Tie
Klimt Turquoise Silk Tie
SKU:41-052
DESIGNER'S NOTES
A Fox & Chave silk tie with a turquoise variation of one of our most popular patterns derived from a section of the painting Hope II (1907-08) by Gustav Klimt.
The central figure of the painting is a pregnant woman, highlighting themes of fertility, motherhood, and the continuity of life. She is slightly bowed, her hands resting on her swollen belly, emphasising the nurturing aspect of pregnancy and the mystery of creation.
The woman's robe is adorned with an intricate pattern, a typical hallmark of the artist's style. Klimt often used gold leaf in his paintings, including in Hope II, adding a sense of sacredness and timelessness and connecting to Byzantine artistic traditions that evoke a sense of the divine.
