DESIGNER'S NOTES
This Fox & Chave silk tie features a pattern derived from a classic textile design by William Morris named simply Fruit created in 1865-66. This blue variation features pomegranates with their leaves and branches, a choice of fruit synonymous with Morris's late Victorian aesthetic.
Home decoration guides of the period often recommended Morris designs. The title page of Robert Edis’s noteworthy book The Furniture and Decoration of Town Houses (1881) has an image of the writer's own living room, where the Pomegranate wallpaper can be seen.
