DESIGNER'S NOTES

A botanical Fox & Chave silk tie with fruits and leaves over a blue ground from a design by the British Architect and interior designer C.F.A. Voysey (1857–1941).

This particular design was originally created by Voysey for use as curtains or as a hanging for G.P. & J. Baker, and was originally printed at Swaisland Print Works in Crayford, England c.1900.

G.P. & J. Baker Ltd is a British company still in existence that is known for its high-quality wallpaper and fabric design. Established in 1884, the company has built a reputation for creating luxury textiles and wall coverings, often influenced by historical patterns and traditional techniques. It is particularly famous for its collaborations with design houses and artists, combining classic and contemporary elements in its products.
