A fine pair of Fox & Chave cufflinks featuring a tartan design known both as Black Watch and Government No.1 tartan.
The tartan originates from the early 18th century and was associated with the Black Watch regiment, formally the 42nd (Royal Highland) Regiment of Foot. It is a dark, muted pattern of green and blue, symbolising military service and Scottish heritage, and is now widely worn as a universal tartan.
The Black Watch played a unique role during the Jacobite uprisings of the early 18th century, where it was initially formed as a loyalist Highland regiment tasked with policing the Highlands and preventing clan uprisings—ironically drawn from the same clans it was meant to monitor, blending loyalty and tradition with a complex history of Scottish rebellion.

Fox & Chave cufflinks are made in England from polished rhodium plate findings with fixed oval backs. Each pair is supplied in an elegant flip top presentation box. They can be worn with single, double or convertible cuff dress shirts.
