DESIGNER'S NOTES
A fabric covered hard case for glasses with a design of lush peacock feathers in stunning iridescent tones of green, blue and indigo.
In South Indian Tamil culture, peacock feathers are considered sacred and are associated with Lord Murugan, the god of war and wisdom, who is depicted riding a peacock. In some traditional Tamilian folk dances incorporate peacock feathers in costumes to evoke the bird's elegance, celebrating its role as a divine protector and a symbol of beauty and pride.
Beyond their religious significance, there's an unusual belief in rural areas that keeping peacock feathers in the home can ward off snakes, as it's thought the peacock's display intimidates these reptiles.
