DESIGNER'S NOTES
Eugène Boudin (1824-1898) was a French Impressionist painter who became known for his seascapes and beach scenes. A mentor to Claude Monet, he captured the changing light and atmospheric effects along the Normandy coast. Boudin's work played a significant role in shaping the Impressionist movement, emphasizing the nuances of nature and everyday life. He was also an early pioneer of painting outdoors.
This Fox & Chave silk tie features a stylised stripe pattern in various shades of blue, derived in an illustrative style from one of Boudin's many scenes à la plage.
