DESIGNER'S NOTES
This classic silver plated pendant features an element from a watercolour study by Jan van Kessel, (1626-1679)
Jan van Kessel, a Flemish Baroque painter, created meticulous studies of insects, flowers, and plants. His works feature precise observation, vivid coloration, and detailed textures, often arranged in naturalistic compositions. Small-scale panels combine scientific accuracy with decorative elegance, reflecting seventeenth-century interests in nature, collecting, and the Flemish mastery of miniature painting.
STYLING
The pendant is a few centimetres in diameter with a 450mm chain, so style outside high necklines, or against the skin with lower necklines. Wear with jewellery of similar scale, such as a simple silver bracelet.
